I worked at a place that sold johnson film once. we had a bunch of cars come back with distorted film within a year and a half time period. it was the HP film.

that experience stopped me from even considering useing it for myself.

I like the film and surprisingly for this climate had next to nothing in film claims in 4-5 years. Hardly an entry level film IMO.

SP 35 product (Silhouette) is darn good. Bit too reflective externally and not long lasting colour stable but does perform. Easy to shrink, tinter friendly, superb optical clarity and great price.

Had problems with adhesive failure from the PGC and also a few from the SP line. A customer of mine complained about 2 years ago about distortion and I removed and replaced the tint on his Civic and now his father just called me yesterday complaining it is distorted and told me that I needed to warranty the film with something that is not Johnson's.

Needless to say, I don't think I would use that film anymore. Glad that some of you have had a good experience with it.

Johnson's isn't bad, but if you're considering which films to use, maybe try solar optic (a newer version of SunTek - produced by CP back east). I've got a freind who is a distributor (with international rights since he's from abroad) and the film is great from what I've experienced. However, I've only been using it for about 6 months, so I really haven't seen much warranty work or any problems with the product.

And it's inexpensive - only $280 for a 60" roll that you can have cut into a 36" and 24" for auto work. Let me know if you want to try a roll and I can get you some. My email address is hamiltonevan@hotmail.com

They stock most flavors and can ship it out the same day FWIW.

Solargard's Quantum has the score on the board for the world's best IMO but what a @#$% to dry. I rather slash my paws than fit it. Such a shame but that's multi-stacked sputtered metals for you.
