Have you tried a sealant called Acrylic Werks,The reason I got some was the black trim on jeep fenders and the black door handles on my 96 vette and top,was oxidized and this stuff brought it back like new with out dyeing and painting. Its a little pricey but will not wash off or turn white and has lasted longer than anything Ive tried, even done the vette tire's so no sling when I cruised right after detailing.Leaves a satin gloss,They have a web page Acrylic Werks and the guy who owns it is a Professional Detailer that I chat with on another Detailing Forum.

I will check it out. It does not sling off tires? Is it a gel or a spray? I am very interested. Some contact info would be appreciated. The ziebart tire dressing is junk and we need to replace it with a decent product.

No its way to expensive for just tire shine its a acrylic sealant that is waterbased and it can be used on just about everything and does wonders on rubber,Check out site and the guys name is mark.Krylon makes a dye called Fusion ,now aval at Walmart if you use covers for the rims when spraying tire dressing then fog two light coats of this and if white letter go back with a little vinyl cleaner right after to clean off white letters and the tires will look satin gloss for a month or so.If you want to make your dressing less slingyyyyy add a little mineral spirits or get chemist to make up a combo 0f 75% silicone oil based dressing :thumb

If you are looking for a longer lasting satin finish product that does not sling, try Ziebarts Vinyl and Plastic protector it is acriylic as well. Most people like the slimy wet look, just remember to throughly clean the tire with shop cleaner so that the product can absorb into the rubber instead of siting on the surface. Let either product absorb for 10-15 minute then wipe of the excess other wise you will get the sling.

I never thought of that? Does it give it a "wet" look? The tire dressing works and does it's job but everyone always starts nagging about the tires not being done because it does not have a sheen to it.

Yes if the tire havent been done in a while you have to use two applications. I do mine weekly when the weather allows.
