question about dry shrinking

sometimes when I dry powder shrink a back glass, I get two long horizontal fingers above and below the horizontal anchor... what do I do w/ these two large fingers that form across? also, I notice sometimes when I do a wet check it's hard to squeegee the water out because of those horizontal fingers which gives me a hard time layin the film down flat... am I over shrinking it?

what kind of film are you using,and film only shrinks in one direction are you shrinking with th factory edge on the top and bottom?

Remember fingers top and bottom only

make an H pattern move side fingers to the top and bottom

yes not a problem!

heres what you do. take you gloved hand and smooth them out going up and down then start your shrinking!

sounds like your pulling your tint to far side to side before the shrink if you can't get them down, now if you have to stretch your film once the shrink is done when wet checking then your over shrinking the film!

you're overshrinking it a little bit. smooth as you go

you are definitely over-shrinking. when I first learned this method, I would also get this problem and the film would never lay down. before you even star shrinking, make sure that you smooth the film out as much as possible and create verticle fingers. you don't want to shrink areas that don't need shrinking.
