Example 09 Camry, at the top edges of the windows there is scum there from the window seal ... I've noticed this on several other vehicles as well... do you guys know how to prevent this from coming back? lol 4 years never had a customer ask me about that... I guess they see it before and after the tint so they don't care...BUT when you tint the mother in laws Camry she notices these things and wants them fixed.

Thanks guys

felt is the only think I can think of. usually used to apply to the bottom gasket to prevent scratching, im sure it can work at the top of the glass like your talking about. this is a problem on just about every make and model that has rubber glaskets with no felt.

no I have never done that. and I know that you dont want to be experiencing anything on the mother in laws car....I would just tell them thats just the way toyotas, hondas, nissans, mitsub, kia, even chevys... ect....are....if they feel so serious about it, they should have bought a ford.

dont do it, toyota and nissan have it that way for a reason.

look at bmw's, they use no lubricant on the rubbers and they break regulators like crazy. the windows get stuck to the rubber on hot days and the window gets stuck. try to roll the windows down and the regulators snap. its most common on the rear doors cuz they rarely get rolled down. dont believe me? call your bmw dealer and ask how many rear door regulators for any bmw they have in stock.

that grease is the worst on nissans and toyotas, but I wouldnt mess with it

So y not lubricate the top edge after tinting? what is the worst case scenario? there must be one due to the issue described with BMWs

clean the glass really well, clean the grease off the rubbers really well, then apply some silicone spray to a rag and liberally wipe the rubbers...

should slide freely for a while :spit BUT make sure you maintain the silicone spray or you'll end up with your rubber sticking (and that can lead to a paternity case :quote )
