I took a few years in high school and I'm enthusiastic about it so we'll see how long it takes. Anyone here speak multiple languages and have you seen a positive result in business because of it?

Guest tint51 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Being here in the USA all I have to know is English. I agree.. But would help sometimes..to know spanish..
Tint_Guru Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Being here in the USA all I have to know is English. I agree to a point. Everyone in the USA should be required to speak English. But that's kind of a closed minded statement isn't it? USA = Frredom of speech and religion. I recommend hiring someone who is Bi-lingual and is willing to teach you. I have heard that the more languages you know the more intelligent of a person you are.
pbalentine Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Only english here. Here where I live the mexican population is huge. I've actually never gotten a call where I could of used spanish. I think with a ton of mexican owned tint shops out here, that they support there own. I do think it would benefit knowing spanish though.
flat rock stan Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Met my wife in Spanish class in 1966 in Grants New Mexico! We were the only 2 in class that were Anglo so we were kind of drawn together . I know a very small amount of Czech and Russian (mainly how to order food!!!) and am learning the basics of Hindi. Guess I will always work on my English skills. Punctuation is the hardest but that is writing a language not speaking

But there a lot lazy Spanish speaking people out there.. Being from CA.. we make it so simple for the them not to try.. There are not any Spanish road signs...???! So why are there a spanish verison??? If I were to go to say;go to Germany.. I would learn to speak german.. ! Or China ,etc...
Guest Lights Out Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 I was born in Chicago. And I also live in the USA. But I'm fortunate and Proud to Speak, Read, and Write in Spanish. Here in California it's a huge plus if you speak 1 other language, wether it's Spanish, Chinese, Hmong or any other language. As a matter of fact, my friends and family in Mexico want to learn how to tint. If Stan's DVD's were Subtitled or Translated into Spanish, I think that they would sell pretty well in Latin Country's.
Fiveofeen Posted October 14, 2009 Author Report Posted October 14, 2009 Believe me I was sitting in traffic yesterday trying to figure out how to say in Spanish "Why haven't you tried learning English" but I cannot control what others do only myself. I wanna learn, especially for traveling purposes and it can only make you a better person to know more languages. Had I continued my education in England I would be speaking three languages very well, I wish our school systems did more with requiring it.
