warning for panel pullers

Recommended Posts

This happened to me this week. Had two Ford pickups to do. I usually pull the panels (cause their easy) and I start with the trim piece that run vertical above the panel. The first one gets there, pull in the bay, grab the piece and pull. The upper clip broke at the plastic. The next day, same story, different truck. These parts are 15 bucks a pop. Just thought I'd give a heads up. :evileye

thats why I dont do it. takes to long to pull and risk of breaking something. :evileye

Where were you about 10 months ago when I could have used this info Fireman? :evileye

F250...the leccky widow switch plate has a cheapo plastic flap that goes down and under. How they get it in and out on the production line is beyond me.

Broke the tab and the son-of -b won't glue back on. Fortunately the shape was enough to hold it intact to this day.

I've never had one off an F150m break. I have repaired ones I've broken or for the customer if I noticed one/something was broken an was easily fixed for a better fit & finish if it didn't take up too much time. If you tint for very long you'll usually have to learn to repair most anything using a variety of different techniques (many times the repair ends up being better than the original design).

he's talking about the newer body style ones, and the part he's referring to is the vertical piece of plastic that runs up the rear edge of the window that has a stupid little pop clip under it, or maybe a screw :rollin he said the plastic clip on the rear broke at the plastic :cool hope this explains more what's going on here :cool (boy, I'm not with it today :?)
