Saturn will be no more

I thought at one time TATA Motors was looking at buying the Saturn Dealer Network to bring their cars to the U.S. with a

ready made Dealer base ?

That's sad. Saturn was just starting to release some cars with decent style too. Saturn will always hold a special place in the heart of any tinter that was tinting during the mid 90's :lol2

What happens now ?

The Dealers have cars no one wants, and I doubt that GM will take the cars back, what will happen to the leftover inventory sitting on the lots ?

Some Dealers here still have leftover 2008's that they are unable to unload.

saturn starts to produce fuel efficient cars that last long and are not expensive, that just doent make sense for america. everyone wants to drive the $40k diesel trucks that last 5 years and get 12 mpg. its the american way. saturn was a great company. I would say they are like the americas toyota, and look what happens when you have a good thing made here.

The Saturn Retailer here in Indianapolis had 3 stores where we tinted at. They said they think that GM was behind the Penske "pull-out" because Saturn had a huge following and Gm realized that if Penske was successful, GM would've been responsible for setting up their competition. Sounds logical if you think about it. GM will do anything to survive.

I don't know where you've been, but whens thelast time diesel trucks got 12mpg? and they last a LOT longer than 5 years. strokes easily run until 350,000+, same with duramax and cummins both.

its more of the imports like bmw and lexus that last 5 years. whens the last time you knew someone who bought one used with more than 50k and they didnt dump tons of money into repairs in them? mercedes is a perfect example. 2002 s-classes were approaching 100k new, yet can be picked up now for under 15 with 60k or less miles. theres a reason noone wants them, the maintainance

:dunno if they would do anything to survive, their not going to shut down or sell their good lines. theres a reason they were looking to get rid of saturn
