I tinted a car for a guy at one of the dealers I do alarm work for, it was a vuaxhall astra convertable (UK car). It had frameless windows. So I tinted it and it came out ok. The rear window is set in the soft top and I always seem to struggle with this type of window. when I cut my pattern on the outside it's always a fraction to big on the inside - how do you experts overcome this. Do you use a stright edge where possible and trim an eighth or sixteenth of an inch away all around before installing??

So he had a couple of tiny fingers on the back window...and I mean tiny.

Then a few days later he tels me "the tint on the drivers window is falling off" - really, I said :ahole , the windows operate like BMW whereby they drop when you open the door. I told you to not operate the windows for 3 days you :gaybooga tosser . This guy smokes so I bet he was having a smoke on the way home!!

Anyway, I retinted the window and lubricated all the door seals and f****d him off!!

So I thought...he calls me today, the drivers window is starting to peel away?? and the mini fingers on the rear window wont go down. I think to myself , right :hmmm :ahole I cant afford to put up with your whining any more. My window has a rattle on it now - must be the tint!!

He nailed me on the price originally so I said to him " fine, I'll strip it and give you your money back"

I dont want to but I know this guy will still be hounding me in 12 months time...

Not happy :evileye

Best way to describe them... I love when they come back and see me because thwy found three little dust specks and think their tint is bubbling....

Dont want sound like an :ahole but look at the situation in reverse the guy paid to have job done then he comes back because the rear window has fingers in it (they may be small but you both agree that they are there. you and I both know that 5 mins with a heat gun and he would not have had to come back) then the window peels 3rd time back and now hes pissed. Honestly can you blame him.

Time is money tinters know that better than anyone

one other thing in the future if the guy has reached the point were he or you want to refund money instead of a full refund and spending another hour stripping the car try half back and leave it as is. Some people just wont ever be happy at least you get some money not zero and you are done with the guy

again not trying to be a dick just trying to help

its still cheaper to re-tint it than to give all the money back.

I'm thinking that myself now...may have been a litttle hasty.

Does any body have any advise regarding

If it were me consistently having a problem on a certain window with the pattern being too large....I'd put the pattern on my peeler and trim a small amount around the outer edge before install.
