A freind of mine worked at a bmw dealer in the service dept and a guy came in with a terrable wind noise, they noticed they could fit a lighter between the glass and the door panel, turns out the guy that tinted it cut the seals out on all 4 doors,$200 -per door to replace them :rollin

Yep...I've seen it... :lol First day tinting..I was like WTF? There HAS to be a better way! They stopped doing it after giving me the evil eye for a while. Let the record show, I never did it. :):rollin

I've seen it. :) I just figured it had already been tinted and somebody tucked the gaskets and forgot to untuck them and they eventually dried in that position and broke off.

:) Now I will admit this...reluctantly. :lol

I tinted a camper shell (way back in the beginning) and cut some of the rubber out to make me some room. I'd been trimming the rubber on pick up back glasses and I didn't realize the inside rubber was "U" shaped and it was what was holding those windows in the camper. So I merrily trimmed away. :lol The guy comes back in a couple weeks with the windows all loose. A big no no I had to learn the hard way. :cool Fortunately we were able to buy a roll of the rubber gasket track thingymajigger and replace the ones I'd ruined. :rollin

I have never heard of or seen anyone cut an entire rubber gasket out but what I have seen someone do is back in the late 80's I knew a couple of tinters that on every (and I mean every) rear window they removed it then tinted it then reinstalled the glass, I'm talking cars, trucks, it did'nt matter... :rollin Could you imagine doing that??? :lol

that would certainly take some time and what happens when they mess up!

BS I had to chuckle alittle! :rollin
