I was just wondering how you determine if you will trim out the film for the brake light on back glass with a darker film.I see a lot cut out but I see many with dark film as well full cover. :thumb

there are tools to get behind all brake lights

I know of what you speak as I have been tinting for a few years now. So the question is why do some of you cut out around the brake light and others do not??

Some people prolly don't have the tools to tint behind the light. But some cars are hard to get behind the light without takin the light or even some take the back deck out. like on the older malibu and taurus and also the chrysler 300 with back a brake light. They are hard to get behind without creasing. So it makes it a lot easier to cut around it rather then taken an extra 10 minutes to remove the rear deck. That's just my opinion.

An amateur shortcut , laziness or because it's the law where your from is the only reasons I can think of for cutting around :thumb

I see it as a liability and safety issue.

In todays world, what would be the liability factor ?

Picture this: You do not cut around the 3rd brake light, at some point, the only working brake light on your Customers car is the 3rd brake light.

Customer is rear ended because the person behind cannot seethe 3rd brake light.

Injuries occur.

Could be the film installer is found to be liable to some degree.

Not laziness or amatuer shortcut as others have implied, just keeping myself covered.
