How sharp are plastic razor blades

I have an install coming up in a couple of weeks that also involves the removal of some silicone on metal frames. At the corners of the frames (commercial type) on the bottom there is a bead of silicone that I will be removing where the two frame pieces meet. I want to try and keep scratching the frames (gray in color) to a minimum and thought plastic blades would be best. So, how sharp are they and what would be a better suggestion?

They are not really sharp enough to 'cut'.. but they are hard enough to wedge between the caulking and the sill to seperate the two..

They probably won't be able to get the sill completly clean of the caluk tho... :headbang

Give Scraperite blades a try. They are plastic and they have a sharp edge. Here is the link to their site. They have several durometers to choose from.

I've use the pink/blue chizler for a similar situation, works great.

the scraperite blades are nice. The edge is a bit "sharper" than a pink lil chizler and it lasts longer than the chizler will! I have only used the orange ones though so I can't speak for the other scraperite blades...

If it is silicone you should be able to just roll it off with your finger tip.
