are you talking about the clear glue that's in the llong tubes?

Careful naughty..I don't think many use this anymore (if your thinking of back glass dot matrix) + usually voids warranty from film co. Might I suggest "Ultrabond" if your using glue method?

my apologies...I was referring to "Pro-Bond" ..if you go to home page, scroll down to"dealing with dot matrix" it tells you about it in there along with every other tip known...I use vinyl myself which is also covered there:thumb

there is ultra bond from someone eles so theres at least two of them to use.

sounds like your matrix is'nt sticking right?

ok here's what you do, follow exactally on your next car and come back here and tell us how it went OK!

sand the matrix with 400 grit wet/dry sand paper split it into 2 sides the left and right. now split thoughs into 2 sections . now sand each section about 25 times when you hit 20 go up and down as opposed to side ways.

if it's really dripping black stuff off then wipe it off with a paper towel, and now finish the matrix.

now wet the matrix and use 3 paper towels to wipe and clean the matrix area you want your paper towels to soak up the black stuff and by the 2nd to 3rd it will all be gone.

thats the stuff that is making the tint look like it's white.

now use some steel wool 0000 and go over the matrix and use a towel again to wipe it up.

prep out your window like you would.

when installing don't wet the matrix area on the inside but you should wet the film in that area.

finish the window clean the outside with window cleaner so you will be able to see everything.

now if there is any whiteness you should use your squegee and go up and the white should disapear.

if you follow these steps youlshould get 99% black and only a few white specks on top of the matrix that you cna get out with a little heat if it just does'nt come out with your squegee.

I've been doing mustangs and cavileers with 100% accuracy!

good luck let us know!

Naughty,

Pro-bond is a serious chemical that is sometimes denied shipping in the US. You Euro guys are sometimes even more restrictive than we across the pond.

Really all it's residue on the glass will do is chemically interact with the film's adhesive by melting its surface, thereby providing the illusion of better adhesion. Awful smelling stuff that'll clear the room of any others who may be watching or in nose shot.

Vinyl is a solution for matrix that has gained wisespread acceptance here. Clear glue can be used, but most film makers void their warranty with any interlayer use (including the use of Pro-bond). However if it helps you, use it cause the warranty is still in effect for the rest of the window area.

Use a gel type glue in the UK that may be in use at schools with the young one's lessons. I am sure there is one available in thick liquid form similar to Elmer's. :thumb

I had better results with the Probond..but Metints right ..could have a problem getting it and not the most user friendly product out there..I don't use any extra glues myself...
