Remove excess flux from defrost tabs.

For those of you who tint the back glass windows that have defrost lines with the tabs showing, it is a good idea to use a small flat screwdriver and scrape away the excess flux around the defrost tab. After that, I spray the soap solution and use a white scrub pad to go over the entire back glass. Then use your squeegee and remove the dirty solution. Wipe it down with a lint free cloth (surgical cloth) and give it a good once over before you transfer the film.

Sometimes when I forget to scrape the defrost tabs like on Honda Civics, I end up getting alot of contamination right around the defrost tabs. Figure it only takes about 10 seconds of your time to remove the excess flux for a much cleaner install.

good tip Lite..it's so true..I do this all the time..only difference is, I switched to a 3M scotchgard scrubbie and no longer use the whites..they don't scratch the glass yet clean better than the whites ...they have to be the blue ones though and say "sratch resistant" on the package...they last a long time...someone on TD suggested them to me, so no credit for me ...:thumb

TW can you get these at the grocery store and are they sponge backed?(Ihope not)

any Walmart will carry them...and no..they aren't "sponge " on the back or I wouldn't get them.

Well now... since I refuse to add any fuel to the low-ball engine driving our economy :lol , is there another place you know that sells the blue pads? :spit

Canadian Tire..but that's here...I'm sure a home depot would have them or any chain store :spit

My assumption, too. Just checking to see whether they are specific to certain stores chain only.

Thanks, :drunk
