Felt on Gaskets?

I'm not sure if this is uncommon or if I just haven't had my share of cars yet but when I did an '02 Altima the other day it appeared if the bottom gasket of the roll up was felted. Needless to say I got a few hairs under the tint. Is there a way to deal with this without pulling the panel?

I almost always remove the door panels. It might take about 5 minutes more per door but it saves alot of time trying to tuck the film below the felt trim. Not to mention the possiblity of redoing the window because of felt contamination.

Every once in a while, I tuck the felt trim down and tint the rollup but that is like one in every 100 cars that I do. You can also tape up all the felt on the door trims before you tint or use a gasket wizard.

Everybody has their own style of tinting so you should do what you feel comfortable with.

I have a confession to make: I've never pulled a panel :lol . I think I'm just deathly afraid of breaking something in the process I.e. clips or switches that would make me wish I had just tucked...

tuck the gasket down. then untuck it. its easy as 1, 2, 3 :thumb

youi can use a gasket wizard, it will pull the seal back and you dont have to take the panel off. but altimas are real easy to tuck and untuck.

I used to do panels..now I just pull the gasket if it comes out in 2 min or less or gasket wizard to the rescue :thumb
