Hello everyone I posted the other day about this and some other stuff but here is the deal:

Doing a roll up framed window and I apply all the film and it goes on it.. but im getting allot of fingers at the bottom.. the window isnt cuved much and didnt appear to be needed to be shrunk..

What else can cause the fingers, they are driving me nuts, I have tried 3 times on 1 window and I keep trying to work them out but it ends up creasing the film.. I am trying to stretch out the film at the bottom right to left but im still getting them..

I am new to tinting and I can assure you this isnt from lack of effort.. lol..

Thanks Kindly

Jason

I want to add this is my procedure on applying the film..

After pattern has been cut, I fold back about top 5 or so inches of the liner spray it..

I apply to the top of the roll up window being carefull to tuck in the side

I squeege the top area I have just applied (this part is all good no hassles)

Next I remove all of the liner and spray up the window and film

I then tuck the bottom right part of film past the gasket and tuck right sides up near\into gasket

then I tuck the then left corner and sides.. and the bottom of the film past the gasket...

I then squeeze the center down and take each side out and down.. and try spread out the film left to right and make sure its layed out ok..

but fingers are appearing and I have no idea why.

Thanks again.

I cant work out if I can edit my posts or not but I wanted to add this is the 2nd car that its happening on... First car I was tinting was a 2002 ford falcon this car is also 1996 Ford Falcon, these are Australian delivered cars, I dont know if anyone has tinted them... any aussie tinters can they tell me if they normally have to shrink the rear doors?

cheers

If Your getting fingers, that should answer Your own question. Alot of cars "look" like they don't need shrinking. I shrink every roll down on every car. Makes it easier on You.

If you keep getting the fingers on the bottom then chances are it needs to be shrunk atleast a little bit. If the fingers are huge and there is nothing you can do with them then shrink the film on the outside. On most cars I tint they don't require that. If the fingers are pretty small (2 or 3 inches most) you can heat them up and most of the time it will do the trick. Be VERY VERY careful when doing this tho. Its very easy to mess the film up. Well I hope that helps a little bit
