Guest tdmillet Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 lookin to switch to suntek. I was using global hp. what line should I use in suntek and is the product as good as they say. thanks
Ryker Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 no offense to any Suntek lovers, but WHY would you switch to them from Global? Suntek HP seems to shrink TOO easy. It would seem that it could not have as much metal in the HP an in that not as much heat rejection. Also, the Suntek HP will NOT have a color change warranty like the Global does. Carbon does, but then you are in the dye only film..... I have tried a good number of films and would not change my Global unless I find some sort of serious issues with it....
coolzone Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 I don't know but it is probably a better match up than the Broncos vs Dolphins this weekend. Why were you wanting to switch?
dramatints Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Ive been using suntek since I started 6 or so yrs ago and still love it. I will say this tho, ive seen a back glass on a dodge ram tinted with hp15% from suntek turn purple within 3 years. this is the only time ive seen this, and it was very noticeable. I personally have the same on my personal car and love it also. I have a sample roll of qdp 20% I havent gotten a chance to try yet, and that is the only exp. I have with global. On another note I see ppl. on this site asking if it is worth it to switch but I dont see why it has to be one or the other. Why not offer Llumar, Suntek, Advantage, Global, F1, etc....and let the custy/dealer decide? just wondering.
Guest Crackz Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 I like the global better than the suntek but the shrink is a lil tuffer on the global but they do make everything them self talk to dark dan on this subject he knows the in and outs ups and downs on all the films on the market you can trust his word he does his research and his own test also
JayZ Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 just tried the Global on a Audi A4 yesterday, class was on the money the shrink is a little tougher than Suntek but the film did look great on the vehicle
Guest darkdan Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 They're both nice. I won't say anything "bad" about Suntek. I had a few problems with them, but I that was just bad luck since no one else seems to have many problems. I do love QDP though. I haven't used the HP on a back window yet. Recently, I have been doing HP down the sides and QDP on the back. This still allows me to up-sell a metal-free, signal safe film, with good heat rejection.
Guest thatsnappyguy Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 stay away from the global hp and the suntek hp. they both have been proven time and time again to not keep a good color for very long. I been using global qdp and suntek carbon. they both have proven to hold a very nice color for a long time. they are not hp so thye wont have the high heat rejection, but they will stay looking good for alot longer. although heat rejection is important in window tinting, most customers will choose a film that last longer without as much heat rejection. a good way to do this is to stock the infinity line of suntek (platnium) to upsell to the right customers who really do want ultimate heat rejection and have a car that it would look good on. I love the way global qdp shrinks but dont like the colors as much as suntek. I only stock qdp 20 and 05% for factory matching and visors. with any of these films, as long as u dry shrink, you will be fine.
Guest Sprinter Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 I had suntek hp 35 and 05 on my van and it sat outside all the time never had any issues with discoloring or any problems, best thing is to try all the films and make your own choise.

Lay down a back glass with some HP Dan.. you'll like it .. I'm not sure if I like the qdp or the hp better.. they are both really great.
