How to repair a tear or scrape in the film?

Is there a quick permanent way to fix a small (.5") scrape in the window tint that has already been installed? I don't want to replace the area because it's hardly noticeable. Would some kind of grey nail polish work? Do the manufacturers sell a touch up paint that would fix this?

Probably only thing that might work is super glue. But that will still look like sh!t. Best to replace the piece.

I think we all have gouged a piece at the end of the job. The one and only time I did was on a 00 civic, I had it all done and was putting the child strap brackets back in the deck upon re-installation, the wrench slipped off and big fat gouge. had to re-do the window. a hard lesson indeed. :lol

Maybe twice ? honest. Maybe I was just lucky.

I have done it a number of times on a side window where a little piece of dirt or something catches the hard card in the final steps and rips it... but only one or two back glass casualties.

OK I believe you. I honestly havent done it enough that I even remember doing it myself but I know Ive done it. :thumb

Sometimes if I tear some film and its commonly Flat glass you can get away with this, some CLEAR nail polish will do the trick just a small amount and keep it off the rest of the film.
