on a commercial. full single pane, aluminum, standard run of the mill push door. Do you remove the cross bar handle?? its one phillips head on the inside and one 3/8" nut on the out side

Have a job in a few days and been debating on removing the handle for an easier install, less chance of contamination and easier to cut...

Whats your experience??? BTW I have to STRIP THE OLD PRODUCT and install NEW..

Thats what I thought.. Thank you. Sometimes just a re-assurance helps reinforce what you already planned on.

oh yeah, you gotta remove that :rimshot . I spent a few minutes stressing over that bar on my 1st FG until I saw that screw. just take out the screw and the bar will swivel down and hang there. 5 seconds of work. good luck.

Panic bars are a different story, they can be hard to get back on.

Be careful, I did one and the dam thing wouldn't tread back in. I had to push the door together to get it started. If you feel tension on the screw when its coming out watch it! At some point the screw should start to turn easy! I also let it hang!

Be careful when you reinstall the bar.........it will swing and hit the tint. :thumb

If you have a helper, it's easier to just feed it behind the bar... just make sure the bar is bone dry... and have your helper keep the film against the under side of the bar as they pull it down. (or up... however you wanna feed it) Easy peasy.
