Felt....

Can someone give me tips on installing felt and where I can buy it? I need to do an 08 lancer and have no clue.

I tryed searching but found very little on this subject.

CR Laurence sells it...

I prep the molding by sanding it with a 600 or so grit paper, then cleaning it with denatured alcohol, apply an adhesive promoter, then stick it to the molding.....

That's just my way..... I'm sure others do it differently.

llumar sells it I think about $30 a roll you gotta take the door panel off it's time consuming but it's an up-charge

Yes, the felt is tape, basically. You just need to prep your surface well to be sure it will stick and stay...

this is how I do it.

1. remove rubbers.

2. wipe it down with alcohol a few times.

3. take the heat gun or torch to the surface that the tape will be applied and just make a few passes to get it a lil hot.

3. apply felt, wrapping around the edges.

I use the felt tape that is pre cut into 1/4inch strips, so far I've only had one to come back not sticking....

Once I started sanding and using the adhesive promoter, I haven't had anymore return with a problem....
