This is in most cases I believe just creative marketing. It can be very effective in driving customers through your door. But, dont fear the price and all the different marketing schemes. Everybody has an angle. But, dont be afraid to think outside the box when it comes to marketing. Customer service is were the rubber meets the road. If your competition is kickin your azz it may not be the price that is at work here it may be their level of service. If there level of service is below there price then there only doing you a favor, and chances are they will be out of your hair in due time. Speaking of which one of my pain in the azz local tinters bit the dust recently and I am already seeing more of his redo's. Hey, its all money. I am the oldest and longest running tint business in the state and I have seen literally hundreds of tint shops come and go. Your work and level of service will speak for itself. Just stay calm keep doing what works best for your customers never try to wage a price war and never ever say (no) to a customer.

Connecticut. Not proud of it but its prime tint real estate. And to be honest I am not a huge fan of tintdude.com Sorry I dont mean to offend anyone but there is way to much valuable information on this forum in my opinion. Just saying some of this info should be kept on the down low and maybe just maybe you would see a few less hake shops popping up. I believe this industry is still in its infancy. It hasmade some strides maybe because of free enterprise or possibly tintdude.com but until it becomes more organized and we break out of that mom and pop mentality some of you will struggle along

Saying no to breaking the law is one thing but that wasnt my point. Im sorry if I was vague. I m not a great writer "To god dam impatient " Follow up Customer Service is crucial. Be creative and use common sense when marketing and taking care of your customers. You old timers know what I mean.

:dunno Never say no? That is how you get walked all over. There always has to be a time to say no. We are the most expensive around and one of the busiest also. We sell high quality film that is installed by some of the best installers around. Never sell your self down never drive the market down and most of all learn how to say NO. NO to illegal tint and NO to something that will make you loose money or bring your business name down. :thumb

The hack shops feed on misinformation. They lie to customers and keep truckin' because not many understand this industry, they cant mention an experience to a coworker and expect an educated response... they must assume that whatever they are being told is true... now with tintdude you can search through google find this place and get educated. The uneducated customer is who gets ripped off by the hack shops, if they had more resources at their reach that could educate them on why quality materials and a capable installer are important many would not make the mistake of visiting a hack shop...

Must say I'm confused with the TD hate, especially when you mention free enterprise in your post... This place is the mecca for tinters and a HUGE resource for a potential customer.

Hang around a bit pal, you should fit in well here your preachin to the quoir when it comes to business practice and customer service! :dunno

no amount of information is going to make a tinter, not a great tinter for sure, and it is no big deal to me that there is so much information on here......

Youtube has more "how to" video than this place does......

and I will say NO to a potential customer for many reasons......esp if I think they are going to be a PITA....
