Need help with sponsorship pricing

Hi there guys.

Like a few other guys on here, I'm pretty much starting out (3 months) and am struggling to get a decent customer base.

Recently, through blind luck, I met a guy who races Late Models Stock cars. he's doing pretty well and is well respected so he's a good person to hook up with.

See, I mentioned I 'did' vinyl graphics including auto graphics and he proceeds to tell me that he has somebody who does them, but they are pretty slow to respond to his needs.

I said that we should get together and chat about stuff which we're going to do sometime soon.

Right, now comes the sticky part. I want to grab his business because if I do a good job and my pricing is good, I could cop for business with other drivers.

Additionally I imagine he's going to be gunning for a subsidised, sponsor type deal. That's fine, but I really have ZERO idea about even HOW to price this job.

He might need the whole car covering with decals throughout the season 5 times, or he might only need the odd small decal run for replacement panels etc.

Anybody got any advice for me before I go into this meeting?

Also, another question. As a lot of the decals will be of other major/global businesses, you know, engine parts etc etc etc, do I have to sweat about reproducing these trademarks ? I mean, we're advertising their stuff so...........??

I don't know if there are too many folks here that get into that ???? Maybe try asking same thing at like signs101 or somewhere where it's majority sign guys vs. majority tinters

Get all you can because lettering racecars is very time consuming.I used to do 4-5 a year.Every one of the racers will want a sponsor deal.I quit doing them due to the severe pain in my butt! Just dont do it for free!!!!
