ford f150 rearview mirror

hey, I am sure this has been covered but I am not finding it via search. On the newer ford trucks the rearview mirror is a nasty spring clip that I have removed before, but never easily. I know there is a "pry bar" like tool that Equalizer sells, but I have an issue prying against the glass......

This mirror mount is the one that you can see the spring clip from the outside sticking down past the button.......

any easy way to remove? turned one away today as I am not willing to risk breaking another glass.

it is the spring type system like GM uses on S-10 mirrors, get the tool from Equalizer, you don't need to apply much pressere to the glass to push in the clip. :lol2

Either that, or run the visor right to the top of the mirror bracket, if using the straight edge of the film, to where you get the drop down on the edges, it will be below the AS1 line anyway :lol2

dont do it. don't remove the mirror!. I broke a windshield trying to remove one a few weeks ago. :lol2

agree, probably the worst mirror clip out ther now. I have my dealer remove them before they bring the truck if they want a visor

It's a ford, what do you expect...... :lol2:lol2

Also, don't snatch it, :lol2 , just roll it off, the first one was scary, but, that's the way the ford manual says to take it off.... :beer Those Texan technicians are prolly heavy handed.... :lol2:beer
