I have glass shop that I've done business with since 1975, They replaced some windows in a Hotel with clear glass instead of bronze by mistake. To make matters worse, it's 7/16 laminated, so they have a ton of money already invested and they want to know if I can match their existing bronze glass. I tried looking at Solargard SB50, but it looks too reflective.

I need some opinions.

Most bronze films will look too reflective. I've achieved close matches with Huper C-40 because it has such a low reflectivity. :thumb

If it is a standard bronze and not a solar bronze reflective, dont laugh, but auto bronze works best :beer

I have done this many times on allot of store fronts where they get glass replaced, and they dont install back the right color. Front door lights can be temp. or laminated, and the auto bronze films are a great color match. My customers usually dont care about the finer points, about using an automotive film, just as long as the film matches up :thumb

You better check with your rep before you install on laminated glass. Most manufacturers void the warranty and I never do it unless it's exterior. It delaminates and or cracks!

NO LAMI......BAD LAMI.......

Thanks for your input. I've informed my customer that if it breaks in half, they own both pieces. It may be in their best interest long term to bite it and put bronze lami back in.

I've used Solargard Stainless steel 35 and it matches most bronze glass very well but wouldn't use it on lami. SS films look more brown than grey imho.
