things tinters get blamed for

had a customer call me back today after I tinted his car saying that there are scratches on one of his windows, I noticed it when I was tinting it, but appariently I did it, im like pffft first of all that scratch is wayyy to big for a blade to make and second of all I dont cut in the middle of your glass. and its a 93, think if how many years its been around, not everything stays perfect. just cause tint brings out minor imperfections in glass its always ourrrr fault. neone else get people like this?

well I was always fond of the ohh so popular:

I'm missing change from the ashtray.

Dayum! I can honestly say I've NEVER had that one in all the yrs of tinting.

Here's a tip though :

As far as scratches on the window go , I do a walk around with a customer when time / weather /daylight permits to inspect glass upholstery ,paint it only takes a minute ..after pointing the first thing or 2 out , you can tell of kind of customer they are if you need to go on pointing things out by their reaction, if they are easy going, then you stop (no point in rubbing it in their face if they are easy going) , if they are : 'I've never seen that before response" , you keep going pointing things out. A great preventative customer/business savior. Taking a minute out to do this has saved me THOUSANDS of $$$ in unnecessary blame, but only do this if your not a hack, otherwise if you screw up on the car, you WILL get blamed for it as you should because you both mutually inspected the car. :evileye

People can be morons. I had a customer come back a few months ago about an hour after he left with his car claiming that we got over spray all over it. I told him it couldn't have happened here :evileye because we don't have any paint in the store and we have no reason to be painting. "Then it must have happened in your parking lot." he tells me. So I told him we should go in to the back parking lot and take a look at the other cars that have been there all day to see if they have over spray on them. At this point he really started being a dick. I told him he was mistaken and he was on his own. Once he realized I wasn't going to be fixing his over spray problem he got a bit irate and started yelling at me. I get about one of these type of people a year. They just aren't rational. You can insult the shop and the work but once you start insulting me as a person :duck ........... It's not going to end well for either of us. He did his yelling and then I did mine. :lol2 Once every year or two it's nice to be able to put a dick head in his place.

love the new car scratch on the right rear passenger. I tell em to go to the dealership and price a new piece of glass. And while your there, take note of where the dealer sticker was and keep in touch when you have a refferal for me or buy another car....... bring it on in and ill remove the sticker next time.
