Pen/highlighter/Marker and candy?

I was detailing a car and I found a broken pen/markers as I lifed the seat up and the ink had leaked into the carpet. I got out the stain but I was wondering what you guys would do in the position? What should I use to get these types of stains out?

also candy stuck in the carpet and %&$# like that? any advice?
