Can't clean window

I am having a difficult time in cleaning the inside of my windshield--it's a 1998 explorer. I have tried windex, 20-20, vinegar..It appears that it's clean for a little bit then becomes streaked once again--any suggestions would be appreciated.

might be the SR coating starting to fail if you've been using alot of windex and vinegar based products to clean it with :spit

Wipe it down with rubbing alcohol on a clean rag to get all the oil off.. then go over it with a regular glass cleaner... :spit

sounds like one of those cheap china sea-spray windshields. we've seen plenty in the glass shop I share a building with. if that's what it is then there's nothing to do but change the glass or live with it.

you might check the "cabin" air filter. I would guess that Ford didn't put one in the vehicle......

It sounds like it's not the cleaning part that that is giving you the streaks it might be your dashboard emitting something that might have been applied to it. I've seen this on some new cars.

I tried the alcohol then window cleaner, it worked alot better. I had two air filters on my Taurus but only one air filter on my Explorer--no cabin filter that I know. The windshield itself is PPG accodring to the sticker on it but not not sure if that REALLY means anything. I will keep my eyes on the window and see what happens.

Thanks..
