Taping seals

Here a totw that should help some guys. I use a two inch roll of masking tape to tape the seal against the panel. This really helps on those tight seals where sometimes you got to waste extra time trying to get your hardcard into the seal. This is an 08' mustang you dont need to do it on this car but I had time to kill today. Heres anothor tip wiggle the tape after you install and it will come right out and keep all the pieces in one hand while doing it or its gonna be fun picking up all those pieces off the floor.

it seems like it would actually be faster to just pull the panel and make sure you have no chance of the seals making the film lift and you getting contamination in the film. But to each his own. If it works for you then do it.

It only took me two minutes to tape it. I only do this on some cars. Today I had time to take pics and show it on here otherwise I wouldnt of taped it. Plus

I rarely rarely pull panels. This also helps with those picky custy. If it were me I rather not have someone pull my panel if they don't have to. If you ever notice that once you pull a panel its never quite the same there might be new squeaks or what not. Another plus is a custy can never blame you for something wrong with the door if you never took it off . But to each his own. Hopefully this will help others.

If you notice the seal is not pushed down theres no way of the seal causing the film to lift. that can happen when guys tuck the seal and flip them back up. But not this way.

I could see your method working, I'm not knocking it. I just prefer to pull the panels on alot of the newer cars. I don't have problems with them being loose afterwards though. If you know where all the screws and clips go it is like legos

yea me too. I dont have problems with them being loose after I put it back on. I was a car stereo installer for 7 yrs and taking panels off is not a problem at all for me. I can take most panels off in few minutes. Call me lazy I just dont like to.
