I got a call from my old boss (circa 1994) to tint cars for him. Seems he's tired of going through 50+ tinters since I left and became self employed. Ironically I follow in the steps of Phil Douglas who quit this shop 8 weeks ago. I get 70% commish with my film and my price list, and he gets 3 cars to my one scheduled. I can't sneeze at the work, and he bought a new building with a sweet tint bay set up. I'll post some pics as soon as it is all set up. This is a lesson to not burn your bridges. I only wish he called a year ago. I'm not too big in the ego dept to humble myself to do work for him. I have to chase the $ where it is. BTW I left and became self employed after he punched me in the face over a Saturn coupe rusting incident. I told him in front of customers that he didn't know what he was talking about, and that set him off. He insisted that it was a film issue, and I told him I could redo the car 10 times and it would still have the same issue. Some of you would have the same issue with the Mexican Beetles.

So I work for another shop 3+ days a week now

aint that true. I am actually doing a car this week for the place that fired me in december. I pushed hard to keep good with em but it always paid off in referrals.

Wow... punched in the face, yeah that'd get me to walk out too.

:lol2 Glad I Could Help :beer

:lol2:lol2 Ya, it's nice to get calls from former employers, I got a call around the begining of the summer from the last dealer I worked @ before going on my own, they had 3 tinters in there, and they couldn't keep up with all the cars :beer When I was there, I was by myself and the last 6 months there, I had finally gotten a prepper to help me out.

So now I go in a coupla days a month to help catch em up :beer

I called the police after it happened. It took them 2 hours to respond. Everyone left after closing. By the time the police responded, everyone was gone. I went to Urgent care after to have Xrays done and handed him the bill the following morning. I was hoping he was gonna fire me, but he didn't. He had to pay the med bill, and I made plans to exit/

Cool story :beer

It's also the first time I've heard getting punched out by your boss for telling him he doesn't know what he's talking about, referred to as a bridge without fire damage. :beer

I would of had him arrested for assault and then sued him...that way you would of got the money without having to work for it...lol

Thats you advice to everyone on here. If they get hit sue them. If they get bit sue them. If there hurt sue them. If they have get an infection from surgery sue them.

Thats part of whats wrong with this world. Sue happy phuckin drama queens. :beer

Olfa makes a good point about not burning bridges and your on the total opposite end.

By the way thanks for a good reminder Olfa and glad things worked out :beer
