Do you tint flat glass during the winter time?

Hey folks

I ma another canadian tintier in the zone.

just wondering in which lowest temperatrue can you tint any commercial or residential.

Seem like the temp has dropped these few days. I am wondering if I have to cancel some jobs?

Caution should be used.

I saw first hand what can happen when it is too cold outside and the glass is very cold!

A distributor here on the "WET" west coast put 8 or 12 mil clear film up on their new glass at the new facility. Proving the part (and rightly so) that you can have good protection and not have the bars. When it was being applied I was worried about the effects of the ICE CRYSTALS forming on the glass because it was so damn cold. (not to worry I was told). It is not usually so cold here,but last winter it got a bit chilly here.

A little voice inside my head told me that the two peices of glass, 6 feet wide by about 4.5 ft high each would look like crap when they were done. Sure enough it's been a year, and the showroom has one of the worst applications of security film I have seen in a long time. There are MANY.. MANY little specs of who knows what that are not dirt of garbage. The glass was clean, clean clean. It has to be a direct result of the freezing cold glass and the glue.

Anyone else?
