Gift Cards? Worth the effort?

Our credit card maching company recently came out with an option to produce gift cards using our credit card machine. Usually we just do it the cheap way, with paper and adobe photoshop....is this appearance of extreme professional prowess by using an actual real gift card that all the big boys put out worth the extra $$$, each card would be about $1 each, mimimum to buy is a 1000 though...

Just looking for ways to keep $$$ coming in before Christmas....and to keep the shop busy afterward..... :rollin

my old credit card company did that for me a couple of years ago and I had nothing but problems with them. sometimes when I needed to add an amount to the card it wouldnt put it on the cars so I would have to call and talk to a rep so they could manually do on their side and that sometime would take up to 15-20 minutes and by then the customer is tired of waiting. then when customers try to redeem them the same thing would happen...you would have to call and see what was the amount on the card was. the credit card company game me all the cards but I cancelled their services so what I do now is write the invoice number on the back of the card and just look up the invoice in my gift certificate folder when it comes in. it was nothing but a headache for and I was glad to drop their service when I had the chance.

I just go to office max and buy myself a gift certificate booklet that has two pieces with the same matching numbers. I keep the stub and give them the certificate part along with a business card stapled to it, inside of a envelope. Works fine enough for me.

It would be nice to have gift cards if you want to be flossin', but I don't want to cough up the dough just for show.

I'm guessing Kinkos would be able to do it with the amount you want on there.

Not sure if it would be kinda steep $ for them to do it ?
