lets talk about the UV and actual light transmission

most people have a belief that if you install a UV film that it should be enough to avoid carpets, furniture, or wood floors that get dull. I believe there is some color that should be added to a window to avoid fading. I dontthink installing a heat control film such as ceramic, would even come close preventing that. :beer:beer

well man, when I go and do estimating, they already have samples up that competitors have left, either huper or vista, sometimes 3m, and they are usually 60-70% prestige, drei ithink and vs60. I understand some people do not want to change the appearance of they're home, or not ruin they're view. But how can onestill avoid interior fading when you still have lots of sunlight coming in?? :beer

Drei is 35%

25% of sun damage is attributed to visible light according to industry sources...

Yes, you have to attack it on three fronts. UV, VL, and heat!

So a high heat rejecting 70% film does a lot more good than UV Clear.

Of course, when it comes to fade protection films....silver 20 wins (excluding black out of course)

I'd say Opti 05 is the winner... excluding blackout. :beer

Maybe, but my silver 20 is weatherable polyester, while I believe Optitune may not be. From what I understand it has a "UV layer in it" according to my rep.

Thus, at first optitune might win, but in the long run (and we all know the fight against fading is all about the long run) SILVER TWENTY REIGNS SUPREME!!!!!!!!!!!! (excluding black out)

That would be a good fact to chase down and confirm. Ask him where this UV layer is located...

:beer the "silver 20 fan club pres." strikes again :beer

I'll go with SL - 180 off Madico's Sunscape line :beer and what about whiteout, same thing as blackout, except white :beer

Well if the UV layer in Opti 05 can't make the grade, I'll go for Vista V-14 and take that extra 5% vlt for 100 Pat... :beer
