How mad should I be?

Hey guys, I'm new here, this is my first post. Well, let me cut to the chase. I recently paid $240 to have the windows on my explorer tinted. I got it done at a pretty well known and reputable place around here in Indiana. They offer a lifetime warranty. So I get my tint and I'm all excited about it. I open my trunk to show a friend my new subs and he notices the tint on the back window is messed up. theres about a 1"x1" square missing on the back of it. So I take it back to them and it takes them about 2 hours to fix it.

They told me when I got it done that it would bubble for a week, and not roll my windows down for 2 or 3 days. I waited 9 days before rolling my windows down. It has now been over 2 weeks since I had it done, and there is still a pretty big bubble on one window, one window has a bunch of really small bubbles on the edge, and the tint does not cover the entire window, it stops about 1/4" before the edge on the side, on each of my rear door windows, which looks kind of weird. maybe its really hard to get to, but shouldnt they be able to have the entire window covered in tint (I know its normal for the top of the window to have a little bit of space but thats it)? im really upset I paid this much for almost all of the windows to be messed up.

To make matters worse, I go to school about 3 hours away from home, so this is an ENORMOUS inconvenience for me, and also very expensive on gas. Do you guys think I have the right to be angry over this? Do you think I should ask for some kind of compensation from them for not only messing up pretty bad, but also for the ridiculous amount of time and money I am spending going back there? I appreciate any and all help. Thanks.

:thumb to the board.

Unfortunatly, there isn't anything we can do about it over the internet, but if it's a reputable shop, they should fix the problems that you are having.

From what your describing, the little "specs" in the edge will never dry up and go away, it is felt from the side mouldings that the window runs up and down in, is it avoidable to have specs YES, IMO.

The big bubble, probably won't dry out either, sounds like a missed spot when they squeeged it out, need to be redone, w/o pictures, can't say for certain, but more than likely yes.

As far as the gaps on the back doors, do you mean when you roll the window down you see a gap, or you can see a gap when the window is up? Either way, again IMO yes it's possible to not have a gap when the window is down, but if the gap is visable when the window is up.....Unacceptable IMO.

As far as compensation for your time, that's something you'd have to work out with them, I can't speak for someone elses company, but if it was me, I wouldn't compensate you for your time, it was your choice to drive that far to get it tinted, not trying to be cruel, and again, thats JMO.

Hope they take care of you, and everything works out well.

Pics would definitely help, but light gaps on the edge, and a square missing in the back window is not off to a rip roaring start. Bubbles still could be water, and may dry out. Then again they could also be contaminants which will never go away. Sounds like contaminants (ie felt) on the edge.

Dunno really without pics and visibly looking at it for sure though...just a guess.

BTW The shop doesn't offer a lifetime warranty. That would be the film manufacturer that offers a lifetime warranty. The film manufacturer does not cover poor installations. Poor installations are only covered by the original shop and if they feel like it.

When the window is down, there is a 1/4" gap ?

Too much of a gap for what I do.

If you can find someone with a digital camera, it would be a tremendous help.
