not trying to be a smartazz, but unless you've got an EKG machine, the only way you'll know is when you collapse, and when that happens it wasn't anxiety :lol2

Go to a doc and get checked out, see if you have any blockages etc etc, and they can tell you if you've had a mild HA or just anxiety :thumb:dunno

Never worry unless you have too :dunno Most people worry about the what if and that is a main cause of anxiety, along with stress and thinking, is it a heart attack only makes you worry more. Slow down sometimes and if it's a heart attack you'll know, so try not to think about it.

when I was younger I had some heart issues...... when it's just the heart.... you know.

when its stress related you know. there always seems to be other symptoms leading up to it....

I usually need to take some chill time when my eye starts twitching, or it feels like my cell phone is vibing (I keep it in my left pants pocket, I remind myself its not a stroke).

youre smart fool..... start I.D'ing the symptoms leading up to tohe chest pain.... if you cant figure out what led up to em' then worry. Otherwise ask the doc about beta-blockers. (theyre good)

That EKG 8- 9 months ago showing fine is not always foolproof.

My Mom had her yearly physical, everything came up fine, that night she was in the hospital with a heart attack. You never can tell.

Anxiety attacks can be serious ... in a way. Obviously, you will not die from this sort of thing, so it's not immediately a problem. The issue comes down to whether or not these feelings are causing a tangible problem in your quality of life. The whole area of anxiety/depression is a bit of a beast in that it is on the one hand very under-diagnosed in those who suffer with it, and on the other hand over-diagnosed in those who don't.

Sadly, to me, the whole reason behind these diagnosis problems seems ultimately to boil down to money. :lol2:thumb

Now, everything that I just posted is based solely on my first-hand experiences and alot of my own opinion. :lol2 The best advice that I can think of would be to consult a professional, and make sure that he/she is one that you can trust. Never be affraid to get a second or third opinion. :lol2

The one thing you don't want to do is listen to people that tell you to suck it up, sac up, be a man ... :mad These people, though they may think that they are helping, have no frame of reference in the matter and their opinions should immediately be discounted.

IMHO, the human brain is an awefully complicated machine. It is capable of much beyond our own uderstanding and we would be well advised to try to be in tune with it and humbly admit when we sense that we are receiving corrupt information from it, and take action from there.
