here's the story ....

I've been working with llumar films for cars for a few years now and like the film very much, buth the marketing concept they offer isn't that good ....The rep only does affort to expand his own tintshop and bissuness . He wouldn't mind tinting a car in my street ( 2 h drive ).

because of this "problem" we've started experimenting with Solar Gard films . We first started using the HP titanium serie last winter but had to redo 5 cars in a month and it took us double of time to install it . ( another college had the same problems ).

So not really the film we had in mind . After telling the salesrep about it he promissed us a new and improved serie to come out in the summer " the NR HP UP Surpremes ".

Because we've been very satisfied with their flatglass and technical support we once again tryed their new films during the summer and they were great , So we've been using it eversince in combination with llulu .

They also offerd great marketing tools So we bought a whole bunch of displays , brochures, posters , flags and a nice stock of films....with the intention to go for SG the whole 9 yrds.

We didn't have any complaints intill now ,, its starting to freeze again and the same problems are starting to pop up again ( I already had 3 cars this month ) and only with the SG 's ....

Does anyone have the same winter/summer problem with SG or am I just loozing my touch .....

DILEMMA : I'm starting to have doubts about the product but not the cash to create a new concept :evilgrin

YEP! SG Hp13 was my all time FAVORITE auto film!!! DTI and MSC were the shiot. Bekaert ruined them for auto. For flat, I've used the SS20 once after Bekaert aquired them. I didn't notice any difference. :lol2 I don't use 'em anymore, 'cuz I just don't like Bekaert. It's been different dealing with them since the takeover.

LLuLLu has a fine film, proven track record, and a somewhat better reputation for not selling to just anyone, unlike "other" MFGRS.

I have yet to find a distributor with Ideal dealer support. My final judgement when it comes to a film brand is based upon the consistency/longevity/quality of the film itself. It's the film quality/longevity combined with your workmanship thats gonna make or break ya, NOT whether or not your Rep gives out free stuff, or is a marketing genius. BUT, (reps take note) A bone now and again (T-Shirt, aprons POP material, etc.) goes along way with us dealers!!

All in all, I doubt I'd switch brands JUST for the reasons you stated. It would probably take alot of film failure, and no back-up on true warranty issues. And remember, install defects ARE NOT film defects.I haven't seen true film failure on a quality film in a while. And believe me, if it happens, it's gonna be ALL OVER this board!

Llumar EU are coming out with some really nice marketing ,material now, they have a new guy in charge of EU marketing. I got some samples last week.

Are you going to the tint off this week? I am going with Llumar UK now so will catch up with you there. They will have all the new marketing for you to see.

The only SG films I can judge about are the new supremes series ( nr-hp-up) and titanium serie , and I liked them during the summer but they seem to be reacting totaly different when its freezing outside ..... adhesive problems big times , like I said ,I already had to redo 3 cars this month alone ...while working with llulu I never had any problems with films coming lose!! Also when working out the little details ( dust, mini cracs ...) the film doesn't do what I want . The point between not enough heat and too much heat has narrowd down alot . I seem to be missing details with it ... It looks fine when I leave it and once dryed out there are always little thing coming out ....don't have this with llumar.

The reason I don't won't Llumar for this concept ( and I really love it ) is that the rep is my direct competitor in my region , And now with the new concept we are going directly too war against him ..and I don't wont my competition to have too much power over my bissuness.....But I can deliver the best quality with llulu at the end .

SG its not for the free T-shirts I choose them but for the technical know-how they can provide . We've got an exclusive sg free area !!! the people that still want SG in my arear buy it from me ..( its been tested ) . They also provide work .. They aim for big projects , flat and cars ,,and we are part of the installation team when they pull in the contract ( they don't have an own installation crew) .....but I can't provide the quality with cars that I want ,.. and it could be me ofcourse and it could be solved with some extra training .....

BUT I'M RUNNING OUT OF TIME AND MONEY..We just opened a shop ( completely SG style ) We've just send out 350 mailings to dealers , placed some expensive ads in all cinds of magazines and books etc... and now the film is going weird on me

It took me alot of time and efford to be where I am today and when I finaly was thinking I was ready to go I may have to change it all over again .... I'm just tyred of thinking about it , I wanna start doing and make some real money.....
