Guest Key West Posted August 15, 2007 Report Share Posted August 15, 2007 I go to knoxville ( 90 miles ) to sub 2 jobs for a guy. 1 is 300 sq R&R of SB 221, and the other is 326 sq of MAC6000. The 325 sq is scheduled for wed. morning at 8:00. The 300 sq R&R is scheduled for thurs at noon. I get to Knoxville at 7:30, only to find that the film is NOT THERE yet. It arrives at about 11:30. I get to the custys and start hanging film around 12:30. It's FREAKING HOT outside. About 2:30, the A/C crapps out! (in a brand new house!!) It's 110 in the sunroom! I tell the lady that I'll be back in the AM, about 7:00. I leave my things all set up at the house, and go back to the Motel. Just before I eat dinner, she calls and tells me that the carpet people are there and I gotta move my things. CRAP!! So I drive BACK to her house (about 15 mi from the motel) and realize half-way there that I had left my things on a hard wood floor!! Ends up that I had to slide my drop cloth 4 feet to the wall so that they could lay an AREA RUG!! Next morning from 7am until noon, I am hanging film like a madman. At noon, I tell the custy the situation, and that I'll have to come back SATURDAY and finish. She tells me thats fine See you at 9:00. I drive from Knoxville to Gatlinburg for the R&R, and get it done around 3:00 Fri afternoon. I go back to knoxville and get ANOTHER motel room, and am up and ready to go at 8:00 on Saturday. I call the custy and tell her I am on my way to finish her house, and she says "Oh, I can't do it this weekend, my mother is visiting. You'll have to come back Monday!!" The woman KNEW that I drove up from Chattanooga for the job. I could have saved the motel money and spent the damn weekend at HOME. (I billed the extra tank of gas and the motel room to them!!) Got it done Mon. after noon and got paid, but MAN, what a fiasco!!! 5 days to do 625 SqFt!! Unreal! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I know the owners. They're still there. I just can't stand Catfish. Get in touch next time you go to one. I'll arrange to get there too. Just GIVE me an excuse to go to Gatlinburg!!
