Heatgun, elbow grease, alot of cursing and my secret glue off concoction. :lol

I have a stripe erase tool, but didn't want to chance phurkin' the paint.

I got word of a fiasco with a Roush truck here in town recently, where the paint came off with

the stripe....

Then the boy.... :lol vinyled right over the spot, leaving the large chip missing from the panel.... It looked like somethin's a$$.... :lol

Thanks to him, I will be getting anymore that need doin'..... :lol:lol:lol

ummmm, am I the only one that thinks racing stripes should be painted on and buried in the clear coat?!?!?! I mean really... but whatever I cant win this battle... everyone here mostly loves vinyl.....so whatever

:lol I prefer if they are going to be on the top surfaces facing the sun, that be painted on.

But mr. jack roush seems to believe it's ok to put sh***y vinyl on the hood, roof and trunk of a 50k automobile... :lol

I mean sh***y vinyl, this car had less than 10k miles on it.... :lol

All I did was get it done and collect the mula.... :lol

I do love vinyl though, it's a herl of alot better for your health than paint is.... :lol

I am sure if painting the stripes was cost effective. Mr.Roush would do it...but being its a production line manufacturing some things just get over looked...Which sucks...if I pay 50k+ for a car..its better not have a damn bit of vinyl on it.

and on a side note...umm painters now days wear protective clothing and respirators...sooo umm yah if your painting a car right, you health is fine...(ex. painter for three years talking here)...

I've worked in body shops and been around that sh!t for around 18 years now.

If protective clothing, SAS systems and proper spray environments are implemented, then yes, you have a better chance of not having health problems.

I stopped painting several years ago after reading some MSDS sheets on some of the stuff we were using.

I've got alot left to live for, so I will leave the painting to the guys that still enjoy it...

Meanwhile, I'll keep makin' them stickers.... :lol

nice job alan...looks great :thumb what happened to the original stripes, the car looks pretty new :thumb gto and I were talking the other day about silver. of all colors it seems silver goes bad the quickest when talking intermediate. cast is the way to go on those even though double the cost :beer

It was a stock kit, definitely cast, I think either it was a bad batch or a detailer mucked it up with something.... :dunno
