Protect your skin, your film, the car and your heat gun

We've all either burnt our fingers, burnt through a cord or hose, touched the hot tip of the gun to the film while shrinking, let slip the gun while shrinking, or replaced a heat gun after a not-so-soft floor landing left it in less than "new" working condition.

I toyed with many ideas but the simplest one proved to be the all around best.

Simply take an empty film core and cut to length so that when slipped onto the body of the gun, it ends 1/8th inch past the gun's tip. Be sure to drill an air hole on each side so the air can circulate properly to protect the sheild and your gun. That's it. I've tried this on Craftsman(My gun of choice), Makita and some Milwaukee.
