Charge by the square foot, take your measurments in inches and divide by 144.... I'm sure you know that part.

Depending on the film you are going to use and the difficulty of that particular job....

Could be in the ballpark of 5 to 20/ SF....

Charge what the market will bare and do not sell youself short...... :poke

5-20/sq foot. I charged a little less than $5/sq for my first few flat jobs. now im charging somewhere between $5.75 and my mood for the rest :poke. And by my mood, I mean, how much I feel like climbing a ladder when I quote!!!! I try to not get out of control though, just because I think FG tinting is expensive as is, and when everyone's income in my area relies on the auto industry, well, I have to make adjustments until GM, Ford, and Chrysler pull through... well.. at least GM and Chrysler. :spit

take a stab at a price, and after your done, figure out what your profits are, then go from there. everyone here has different overhead to pay for. :nono GOOD LUCK! :spit

I still don't know why people ask about sq footage pricing? It needs to be more calculated than just figuring out what everyone else is charging per sq ft... :hmmm

Pretty good idea to figure out how to charge and how much you need to charge before you go out selling. Good tip! :hmmm

I think alot of it is auto tinters thinking that starting a "side" flatglass business would be more profitable and jump into it without getting all the basic info under their belts. I can understand the excitement with starting a new business but at least get the basics down before posting.

Besides how many SF: Are the windows near the ground or higher up, are the windows reasonable size or are they divided into many panes, is there a lot of furniture to move around or cover, how far to travel to the job. etc. One other thing I always take into account - do they seem like good people to work for or do they seem like they might be trouble? I include in my price something extra if the people seem difficult. And if they REALLY seem difficult I walk away. Been doing this long enough to know there are some jobs I'm better off not having.
