well the specialty films do shrink but not well....exspecially on a curved glass like this old Gia.

wet ready to be trimmed

Here you can see along the top after I shrunk it..it did pretty well...looks smooth and it was but the thickness of the glass on this old ride throws it way off when I transfered it to the inside

The only reason its smooth on there is because there are huge splices on both sides about a foot long :thumb im going to just 2 piece it on Monday :spit kinda sucks cause there's no defroster lines. Im also going to cut a silohuette of a karmann ghia out of 5% and put that on the glass before I install the green...this was just a test run to see if the stuff would even thermoform..seing how my rep didnt even know the answer.

Here's the sides..I just popped out the wing windows for easy and clean install

So thats a large relief cut on the sides?

Yup...it was all smooth on the outside and after the transfer to the inside there were fingers everywhere :beer...I moved them to the side like if you were to relief cut something with defroster lines and the finger was about 14" long and an inch wide.:thumb just to see what it would look like I spliced it and layed the film smooth...it looked ok but instead of relief cuts I think an even line all the way across is the way to go...unless anyone has any tricks on how to over shrink film so when it gets to the inside curve of the glass it fits better :dunno

After you're doing shrinking it....wet it. Force up a few huge fingers and shrink them out.

Or lift the edge of the film and blow hot air under it until it shrinks it down. Like in the "snapping side windows" tip.

thats a good idea...I do that with normal film and back glass but I dont know about this stuff, it was shrunk out when I got through with it, you give the empire new hope young skywalker :dunno:beer . I think I will try another one piece. He's leaving it for the whole weekend and he's a cool guy...he might want another layer of green or even some charcoal over this to get a good look. he's flexible and I really just want to play with some green film :thumb
