I do a buttload of cop cars/K-9 cars. No, metal will not interfere with thier radios, or the radar as they use 'em. (they shoot Radar out of rolled down windows or from outside the vehicle). I DO, however, use at least 4 mil on the rear sides of K-9 cars. Dogs will TRASH regular solar control film. put your film on, then back it up with 4 mil. It's a GREAT upsell, even for city/couty/state vehicles. :dunno:hmmm

I'd be concerned IF the vehicle has a mounted radar eye shooting out of the rear glass that a metalized/ hybrid film may affect it's performance.

I do a fair amout as well and never had a problem. As far as scratching goes most have had cages around the glass. I also do a ton of goverment cars that have secured phones in them and never had a problem. I dont think that K-9 units do rader, atleast not around here. :dunno

Yea, some have cages, most around here don't :hmmm , But I agree about the secure phone thing. I do GBI, m*th Task Force, and undercover cars all the time. Not one has ever complained about reduced functionality of any electronics.

it does have a rear mounted radar

Should not affect it. But you could always use CS film to be safe. I've never "tested" metallized film to see if it affects RADAR, but have never had a complaint. I used to tint my windshields with HP film, and never noticed a drop in performance on my RADAR detector :dunno

I do allot of cop cars as well with hybrid films, and they have never complained. The k9 units around here have cages as well, so there hasn't been any problems with scratching, But if they did, the 4mil up sell is a nice tip.

I did one years ago for our state patrol with Quantum, all metal, and they did have a problem with the rear radar unit, so we just cut out around the unit like we have to with some of the inside mounted lights. :dunno
