I have some skin pigmentation problems and my doc recommeneded a good uv rays block glass film for my car.

I am new to tinting. I am not looking for any particular color or fancy kind of things, just the best film which protects my skin from uv rays.

All the shops I called near my house carry solar gaurd or suntek. which one is best in blocking uv rays? and is there any particular film that I need to ask the tint guy for?

Almost any film blocks 99% of UV light. Some block 98% (rare). Llumar claims to block 99.9% UV.

Even some clear films can block 99.9%.

You should be concerned about which installer has a better reputation and work.

If you're on the west side of Wisconsin I'm only about 90 minutes away. =)

Thanks Darkdan. I am from east side of wisconsin.

I have another question too, why cant we tint the winshield mirror? is that illegal in all the states? because my concern is uv rays can pass throrough windsield mirror also. so how would I get complete protection?

Dodgetint , I would recommend a film that blocks 99.9% rather than 99% ..trust me ,there is a BIG difference in that .9% on the higher end of the UV spectrum..usually these films are clear by nature no matter what brand, seeing as you don't care about the "darkness" but rather the UV end of it for your needs..that's the way I would go IMO :beer

Windshields already block a majority of the UV light because it's laminated glass.

However, WI does indeed have a medical exemption. So you'll have to find the legal way to have your windshield tinted. Ask your doctor and the state.

Tintwizard,

Thanks a lot for the help and is there any film from solargard or suntek which provides 99.9% uv rays? because those arethe only brands carried by people near my area.
