Hotel from Hell

I have been working on a large hotel job for the last few months, sharing space and time with the construction workers , good decent people until....I go to collect payment yesterday to find my ladders and tools missing! :evilgrin

WTF, most of the stuff is new...got it to leave it there, I guess so someone could steal it! Three work lights which two were borrowed, three new step ladders and a plank step ladder, not sure about the film handler, they might have moved it. I'll know Monday.

Someone is paying for it...the hotel is behind on a payment sooo until I get paid for my work and tools it's not getting finished! I'm sure they don't want the building left with only the two top floors done :klingon

Oh wow!

Was your name written on your stuff?

The way construction sites are sometimes workers grab things thinking it belongs to their company and is unintentionally stolen.

That just plain sux!!! But Dude is right. Alot of stuff comes up missing on construction sites, unintentionally loaded up thinking it belongs to thier Co. :dunno I always mark my ladders (Engraved with Co. name) and even my film handler. No one but a tinter would have any use for one of thse. :thumb

My question is just how in the HELL did you sell a hotel?? My experience is that they are NOTORIOUSLY CHEAP!!! GOOD JOB!!! Thats gotta make your year!!! (unless it was dirt cheap!) :thumb:gasp

Thanks guys but I really wish they took the tools by accident. We have our own rooms for tools, mine didn't have a lock and was at the end of the hall. The top three floors are restricted to workers. Someone dumped two new tool pouches and took the pouches and left the blades and scrapers, left my dirty rags and that's why I'm sure someone took my stuff. I'll find out what I can Monday.

Key west...They called me, someone gave them my cell phone number and from that first call, I had the job. Oh yeah, cheap isn' the word, I had to match the cheapest bid with crappy film and use LLumar Bronze I didn't want to but the profit was big enough. Good thing the wife wouldn't let me start without payments per floor because the hotel is running into problems and they could only pay half for the last floor, I could only see it getting worse.

GoW, I did pack my tools up every day but when I needed more tools I couldn't pack it all and take it with me. The workers were great no problems, for two months nothing was ever taken. I'm thinking maybe they brought new people and one of them is a thief.

Thanks again and Have a good day everyone

Any security cams that might have seen what happened?

No cams in the floors under construction, or any for that matter. They did happen to find my ladders and a few tools...hard cards and razor blades and my film handler is ok :evilgrin

But that's all they found. The hotel is paying for everything else. They say the inspectors were the only ones there when my stuff came up missing...which is true I was there Friday I seen the inspectors and the contractors leave Fridays to go back home. I have to say it makes sence for the inspectors and not the contractors to do this after months of our stuff never being touched and we share tools and lights so there is no reason to take it :klingon

I can't wait for this job to be over :thumb
