Almost any polyester can be shrank. It's a thermoplastic by nature.

Yes, yes they can. How well? I'd guess about as well as any other thin dyed product. I "believe" it's 1 mil.

What's confusing me......Global has a green?

It's not on my price list! Just blue, yellow, red.

Have fun with the Ghia, I'm sure it's a PITA to try to get clean.

My mom had one when I was younger. One of my friends had one in HS.

Soon, very very soon.

Now the real question, if I can learn things so easily, answer questions so well, and solve problems quickly and efficiently.....why didn't I graduate from college the second time?

I don't know either.

I see on the literature it says green 40%, but I don't have it on my price list and it's not on their website.

The film is 1mil (or less) but there is a 2 mil release liner (For use on a plotter). It shrinks well, but the film wants to shrink faster than the liner. Take it slow, careful with the heat and you should have no probs. Be aware tho, that the colored films were designed for graphics, they do not have a scratch coat. Back in the days when I was doing things like this, I always backed it up with a reflective (Chrome/Silver). It made the color stand out, and provided the scratch coating. I did a green eclipse with green tint and green neon. After about a month, Dude came back and wanted it stripped. He got tired of everything looking RED when he got out of the car! (Subtractive filtration) :DD:thumb

you know what..:evilgrin it was good to get the info on shrinking colored films but checking back at my sample swatch from global they put blue and yellow right next to eachother (which makes green)...must be why I thought I saw green :klingon it'd be tomuch of a pain and cost to much to layer the red and yellow...maybe I should tell him to go to autozone and get some green film, then I'll just install it for him. he already knows the green I was going to put on wasnt going to last long but he keeps it garaged most the time and rarely drives it so I think it'll be ok...for at least 6 months :thumb

Llumar has a green film.....well, several. LOL.

But they have one that is supposed to be green! (35%)

Madico has a green 55%.

SGard has a green 40%.

Soltek has two green films....I can't recall the VLTs.

Give Global a call on monday, like I said, it's in the literature, but not on my price list or their site. Even if they don't have it, plenty of green PS options out there.

thanks D :rollin I'll call up global monday just to make sure but I dont know if this one job is worth setting up with another supplier. my shop is exclusive MMM but I myself am partial to global and have an account of my own there. do think lumar would sell just a box of green to a sap like me :spit
