Solution dries up?

Recommended Posts

So today I was tinting, and my solution was drying up on the glass very quickly, which would screw me over on a couple windows because the film would adhere very rapidly. I added more baby shampoo to it to try and make it slicker. this seemed to help some, but then later, I got the same problem. I've never had this problem with Autos. How do you guys combat the sun's awesome power of evaporation?

are drop rolling the film or wetting the film first? If you can you might try and wet both the film and the glass....that is if you have extra hands or somewhere to "hang" the film to peel and wet it.....

That way you have a whole lot more liquid than just wetting the glass. I personally find that my mix with film-on is perfect for flat and auto both. Flat can be a bit slick sometimes....but that is normally on very small windows.

I use a cap full of film-on in 2 liters of water.

what kind of tank do you recommend?

I try to not tint directly into the sun, but sometimes it's inevitable.

Cornelius keg, theres a couple of threads on here about how to build them,

I tint in AZ 120 degree weather in direct sun with no issues :evilgrin

Poly spray the crap out of the window or buy a corny tank like a real man.

Or start on the west side of the house and work your way south and then east.

I do a lot of west facing windows so I just schedule them in the morning to avoid this.
