8 mil is the norm, although if they have tempered glass then you will want to put some sort of an attachment system on it. Such as the doors, we take them out of the frame and film to the edge of the glass and then put them back in with a bead of 995 on both sides of the glass.

I have a customer wanting mainly to stop people from breaking in. what is a good choice?

thanks :dunno

For anti-intrusion, a daylight app of 4 or 6 mil should be more than adequate on monolithic annealed glass. Tempered glass is another story. with tempered glass, you need to attach the film/glass composite to the frame (wet-glaze) with a batten-bar system, or DowCorning 995, due to the way it shatters in tiny pieces.

You are only trying to slow down the entry, allowing for more time for police response.

Hope this helps :thumb

I don't know about all the film co's but I know Hanita has passed an international anti-intrusion test and has data to prove it! Check with them for that.

8mil will slow them down pretty well. There is no way to stop someone completely from getting through

Wanna bet? They MIGHT get thru the wall, but they're gonna knock the frame out first!! :shock
