National Advertising

Recommended Posts

I'm sitting here watching the "Powerblock" on Spike TV today, and I've seen an ad for SNICKERS candy bars at least 10 times in a couple of hours.

Film companies claim there's not enough profit in film for them to advertise, but how can there be that much profit in candy bars that they can advertise multiple times/hour?

Maybe I'm wrong. :spit

I've asked that question multiple times and, always, I am told the real profit is on the retail end therefore it's "our" responsibility to advertise.

What you heard was a response from a distributor. The window film industry screwed themselves by allowing distributors to run this business.

There is money, but there is no direction

A national ad capaign sounds like a great idea for them...

Then guide them to a website for installers near you, sorted by zip code.... :spit

I think the first mfg. to do something like that would rack up... IMO...But I'm no rocket scientist..... :lol2

The first MFGR to do that would have me as a dealer for life. Hell, any installer would be an idiot not to jump on the bandwagon with me!!! "HEY......SunGard, SolarGard, and the rest of y'all. TAKE NOTE! There is a REASON LL is the most widely known film name by CONSUMERS!!!

Y'all don't need to advertise to US!

we have discussed this many time on the board before. I think they are waiting for one company to do it and the other will benefit from them. being that most of the product are very similar when you come right down to it.

or..if they do national campaigns ..they will have to raise priced of the product..which in turn will cut money our of our prockets ..unless we raise prices as well...then what happens is the low life hacks disappear..then the film companies lose money.

Problem is that for every one that chips in three more would not and then benefit from the marketing without paying.

Big problem in the US is that no one is doing anything to grow the market and all the while more distributors are pouring in taking their share of a market that hasn't really grown much. Choice is to grow it or hit critical mass and watch some companies disappear. :spit

The problem there is that most MFG's/Dist's saturate markets with so many dealers that the question becomes, "who do you give a lead too when there are 2 or more dealers in the same zip code?"

Why not leave that up to the customer, place all dealers in that zip code, the better salesman wins... As long as all keep their prices in the same bracket... :spit
