Hello everyone,

You all have been so helpful thus far I wanted to get some opinions on what supplemental DVD's might be worth the money? We're going to be attending training at llumar this summer, it's 350per day for two people and they also have some training DVDs you can purchase which are only about 50.00 bucks.

In other posts I have seen a lot of you recommend Flat Rock but they are entirely to far away for us to visit but it looks like they have a pretty comprehensive DVD training set but it's around 600 bucks. We were thinking about getting something like that before we attended training so we weren't completely green. So, is it worth the bucks? is flat rock that good? any opinions?

Thanks!! :thumb

From what I've read on here a lot of the folks have a lot of respect for him, that's why I thought the DVDs might be worth the 600. We were thinking about getting the DVDs to try and start a little on our own before the hands on training begins (relatives, friends, etc) just so we understand the concepts a little better.

The $600 is for the dvds + tools + tint. I called Stan last Fri and asked him about the discount. If you want the dvds, it cost $175 thats with the discount 275 without. He also includes the new shaving dvd. I ordered the set should be here tomorrow. Hands on training is definetly the best way to go, but I just can't get away from shop for a week. :dunno

I paid for a Llumar course, was OK tought me how to shrink but very little else. I've picked everything else up by trial and error. This site is a very good place to start, I've been tinting for years but still pick up useful tips from this site daily. If you can find an experienced tinter to train you who is not in your area, go for it. Otherwise, get a couple of rear screens and practice, using tips off this site. Don't pay for DVD's, you can get better off this site or Youtube. Its not easy and I wish you well, stick with it and don't be affraid to ask, most of us are quite friendly :krazy

We're going to the llumar training in a month or so, I think it's 350per day for 2 people, so was your experience with them worth it?
