What would you do?

Recommended Posts

I work for a shop that currently has no formal standards about how is too dark. Ohio law is 50% on the front and anything darker on the rest. I currently do my share of 20 on the front but after seeing certain threads on the subject here, I am starting to feel that I should refuse anything too dark. What do you all think? thanks

I actually tried to make this a pool but evidently I don't know haw to do that. :thumb

talk to the boss and see if you can get him to understand.

I'm not going there this morning to get things sidetracked for the day, but the illegal thing is being misconstrued. Its the 5% limo all the way around and windsheilds that are bringing most of the bashing. :thumb

well check this out. in Illinois it's illegal to have anything on your front doors. the owner had me put 50% on his front doors on his balloon van, we got MAC 50 on the company malibu, he has some on the fronts of his personal Lex... :lol6 I also came from a state where it's illegal to PUT THE FILM ON if it's too dark... we followed that law to the letter. :thumb

hey mountainmang I tinted a car for a guy I worked with with 35% all around which is perfectly legal in texas. I already new that he was moving to ohio before I did the car and told him that it was illegal in that state and he told me to do it anyway :evilgrin a few months past and I get an e-mail from him asking me how to remove the film because he had received a ticket for illegal film :beer:lol6

I should mention that my boss is not the "anything for a buck" type of guy and I will talk to him. thanks willie :lol2

Yes, the main objective is not too dark, something where you're just asking for it. However, discerning where that line is seems to be a difficult task. :gasp Had a custy the other day with 20 all around get pulled over right out of the shop. Called back and wants 35 which is still illegal. :beer

just add a lot of water. :lol2

That dam spellen be kontest on thu tee vee wuz osum tho :lol

ohio is 50% net on the fronts which means you'd probably have to put on a 70% vlt film to achieve that.

That's a good point mm. Never even considered the net value. :lol2

Busted for 35?!? Damn, never got one of those yet. Cop must've had the itch.

yep, not much gets by the good 'ol boys of the ohio state police :lol 35 does surprise me though...bet there's a little more to the story than him getting pulled over for a tint infraction :lol2
