..hello guys I have been tinting cars for about 11 years now. a contractor have been sending a lot of flat glass work...and I am loving the flat glass money. But time to time I am having dirt issues..some times I get it at the top of the glasses and with some colors are easier to see then others...I am cleaning my window with a razor blades and then hit is with a scrub pad and hit it with a squeegee and then lay my film. and I reverse roll my film onto the glass..any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply's I am looking to put out flawless work. I see that cleaning the glass is the most important part of the job and making the sure the area around the glass is clean as well...but as time goes on I see these contractors that's building new homes do not clean those high up hard to reach windows....the dam over spray be killing me..

clean the frames aswell as the window and wipe it down good with a paper towel to get any crap off the frames that might fall from the top or come from the sides. Also try and have a factory top so you dont have to cut the top, just line up the top edge and then cut the other 3 or 2 sides .

we keep a small paint brush with the bristles cut down to about half length so it's a little stiffer in our tool pouches and use it to clean the crevice out after we dry scrape the edge.

I keep a little hand held vacum in the vans for those real PITA wood frames. and as Vol saig a factory edge at the top is the way to go if it;s possible :dunno

good reason to have a filmhandler. You can make sure the top edge is really straight when you pull the film.

Guys that pull film off the floor don't have that advantage.

I pull off the floor and get strait edges from an aluminum channel that I put on the box that gives me a strait edge.
