In the UK we don not have the same tinting laws as the US. The police in certain counties are now trying to make issues out of tint that is too dark - like 20%.

There is I beleive a conflict in the UK legislation which has something to do with the law only applying to manufactured glass. IE; new vehicles - not aftermarket vehicles.

I will tint to 40% on the fronts but I had a guy today wants 20% on the fronts...I told hime he would have to sign a discalimer to state that the vehicle is for off-road/show purposes to try and cover my ass...

How should I word this disclaimer??

Any ideas

a tricky one that.. if a customer wants a dark tint on the fronts he will find someone out there who will do it, I only put darkish tints on customers with decent vehicles not xr2 and rs turbos ect.. there less likely to get stopped if the car that the tint is on is a prestige vehicle. my customers understand its illegal and understand the compilactions, he gets stopped, thats public, trade we keep eithin the law.

according to the road traffic act 1986 it says that the front doors need to let in a minimum of 70% so basicly anything we put on them is illegal I usualy use 35 for the fronts but as matty said if its something a bit newer n expensive then I will go 20 on the front but I always explain that there is a chance they can get told to take it of etc n as yet nobody has had a problem
